OK so my roommate Stephanie just found out last week that her on again off again boyfriend of 2.5 years Sean is actually engaged to another girl. He apparently got engaged last month which did nothing to slow down his schedule of calling on my roommate.

This isn't a case of Sean being a player and getting with my roommate on the side because a real player wouldn't be constantly coming over and spending all weekend and telling her he loved her and having revolting audible "tickle-fights" in her room. The only logical conclusion is really that Sean fully had two girlfriends at once.

This is amazing too me for a number of reasons

1. I barely have enough energy for one girlfriend let alone two in two different cities.
2. How does one keep track of that much lying? I suppose the best way would to have a 3 full day planners with the first being your actual schedule of events and then one to keep track of your life as you have presented it to each girlfriend respectively.

Example:

DayPlanner 1: Thursday 10:30- Pick up drycleaning on way from Girlfriend #1s to Girlfriend 2s.
DayPlanner 2: Thursday 10:30- Pick up drycleaning on way from Girlfriend #1s to Visit Fictional Aunt in Hospital.
Dayplanner 3: Thursday 10:30- Finally released by Iranian kidnappers. Rush home to see girlfriend(#2).

And it would go on like this.


Regardless my roommate was understandably "surprised" to hear about his alternate relationship and subsequent engagement. I think she has decided just to wash her hands of the whole mess and not bother to tell the other girl. I support her decision although I would have been pretty tempted when he called last night to threaten her with criminal charges if he told her? WHAT????

I guess the questions of note are...

1. Do you have a moral obligation to inform the girl who you don't know about her boyfriends secret life or is it better not to interfere in peoples lives?

2. If you are this guys fiance are you happier being told or not being told?

3. How can this guy (who isn't exactly the christmas ham by the way) have TWO girlfriends when I have several friends who haven't had any girlfriends since the 90s.
