Hey BlogFans,
What the hell is up?
Obviously nothing is up with me or I would have been writing about it but let me rundown my week anyway.
LAST THURSDAY: I don't remember what I did last Thursday. If I was doing something with you I apologize for not remembering. I may have been at the midtown but that also might have been two Thursdays ago or even two Saturdays ago.
FRIDAY: Euchre Party at Cam and Darcy's. This event also included Tonya's Birthday and was an allround good time. My major complaint about the evening was that there was way too much food there and I couldn't stop eating which was seriously cramping my ability to drink beer good
TOP PARTY TABLE FOODS:
1. Those pumpernickle spinach dip things- I think I can take down an entire one of these myself. As with all dips I am a little concerned about the sanitation of the thing but that is barely slowing me down.
2. Anything with encapsulated sausages- I know there are sausage rolls and those little sausage squares and I am also going to go out on a limb and include any encapsulated sausage things I haven't tried yet.
3. Those little french bread treats with pork and mango that lyndsays mom used to make: These would clearly be number 1 if I had had them in the last 3 years.
4. Kentucky Fried Chicken: While we are on the x-girlfriend party foods theme I would be remiss if I didn't mention that I had a horribly mismatched girlfriend in highschool who worked at kentucky fried chicken and would bring upwards of 75 pieces of chicken to our parties after her shift. After we broke up and I didn't want her around Mark displayed his loyalty by consistently inviting her out in hopes of getting more chicken. Anyway party chicken is delicious and deserves a place on this list.
5. Perogies: I could go for some perogies right freaking now.
I suprisingly didn't win the euchre tourney but obviously this tournament was not designed to reveal the most skilled player since tonya came third.
SATURDAY: They should have a song that spells out all words like they have a song that spells out Saturday. (you know the song from So I Married An Ax Murderer that goes S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y..... Night!) this would make it a lot easier and more musical for me to do my blog good.
Saturday I surprised my sister by being 25min late and hungover for our drive home to grimsby. Erica also came for the weekend and was not a refugee or pilgrim as you would have assumed by the amount of stuff she brought for her 2.5 days in Grimsby. On the way home we had to stop at the specialty tile store because the tiles for Jen and Bruce's bathroom are finally in.
We get to grimsby and instantly turn around to go to the vineland craft show to see my dad. The craft show was ok although my dads stuff was by far the best. I had a kick ass candy apple which narrowly beat out a fudge apple for my two dollars. I ran into Steven Moore who has been our friend since grade 6 but for various reasons like "he has a job in Sarnia" I haven't seen 4 years. Steve is living in sin with his girlfriend Kathy who seemed really nice but also seemed to have the expression of "I cant believe you used to hang out with this Jagoff" a lot.
My cousins Jean-Marc and Alex were also in town with my uncle Dave who spent an inordinate amount of holiday time practicing the cello. My cousins are old and stuff but I guess since Ben and I are in our late twenties this shouldn't be that suprising. My grandmother from BC is also in town which was nice because I hadn't seen her in a year and she seems to be doing really well. Saturday night we went to the Winchester and then two Adams back yard for some quality thanksgiving binge drinking and yelling at each other. Big Kudos to drunk mark for "telling it like it is"
Sunday: We went to see Kill Bill. This is a great movie by any standard (unless you don't like violent limb severing) Erica set a new record by leaving before the opening title sequence about 1.5 min into the film.
Sunday night we made the trip into Hamilton to visit Laurie and Paul. There house is incredible. I kept making suggestions like "hey maybe I will come and live with you guys" and they were like "yeah that would be GREAT" Laurie was nice enough to tell Erica about 25 consecutive Luke in university stories including the one where I shit in a plastic bag.
Erica was like "I don't know if we would have dated when you were in University" for the understatement of the night (also when I was in university Erica was 11).
I was not in great spirits on Sunday because I lost the coin toss with Ben as to who had to be the Designated Driver. I know what you are thinking "Fuck that noise! get trashed and drive home anyway!" but I am definitely more responsible than that.
Monday: Lets go back to Toronto! I want my mom to sit down at a table across from a team of Toronto headhunters and see who can name the most jobs in 25 min. The drive back wasn't great.
I also worked and no runners showed up.
Tuesday: Did somebody say "JOE SCHMOE" This show is actually getting funnier. I also worked in St Catherines (near Grimsby) on Tuesday and the people at the running store I was at remembered me from my track and cross country days! I was kind of proud of this which is understandable since it really was the last time I was actually good at something. Conversely the people at the running store should probably get girlfriends or something.
Wednesay: I worked in Burlington. It sounds like I am working a lot but these are like 3-5 hour shifts.
Thrusday: Thats today. I am at the law school writing a blog entry. I think I should probably get at least a little drunk tonight so that I don't over do it on the weekend.
Thanks for ready my boring week review. I will try to have some more excitement next week.
