OK so one of my friends from UofT Law who heard I unemployed sent me a job opening in case I was interested. Lets look at the required qualifications....
Undergrad degree - BComm or BBA or HBA or BA
>Grad degree - MBA - considered an major asset
>CFA - working on getting the designation - considered an asset
>
>6-18months trading experience - doesn't have to be in the equities
side of
>the business - fixed income, money markets etc
>good understanding of how trades are complete -
>Bloomberg and Reuters knowledge - considered an asset
>excellent communications experience
>driven to excel
HMMMMMMM I seem to have the BA but I have to admit it has been a while since I brushed up on my Bloomberg and Reuters knowlege and I guessing that the 6-18months of trading experience refers to some kind of financial trading and not like "I will trade you a moosehead for a vodka and tonic" or something.
I also thought originally that I am driven to excel but then a little voice in the back of my head is like "are you really?" so maybe to firm would accept "aggressively courting blow-out style failure" instead of "driven to excel" they kind of sound the same.
regardless ARE THESE THE KIND OF QUALIFICATIONS EMPLOYERS ARE LOOKING FOR?
NO WONDER I AM UNEMPLOYED.
I think I need a job description that looks more like this.
Wanted: person to exchange labor for financial compensation
Ability to speak english an asset
Must not steal from the company and stuff.
$150,000 base salary + commission
Massive SUV and kick-ass cell phone with video games provided
its ok if you are late all the time for some reason
if you hear anything let me know.
