I think that the Second Cup I was at today had to be the most annoying place I have been in the past 5 years.
All I wanted to do was buy a coffee and leave and instead I am waiting in a huge line full of mocha-something extra long order taking coffee enthusiasts. It was like 1:15pm so I was in a hurry to start my day but these people were obviously just starting thier afternoon second-cup lounging with an extra long trip to the ordering station. I swear that the woman in front of me took 7 min to order a double somthing and some kind of sandwich wrap.

I realize I am biased against coffee people already or more accuratly jerks who are constantly meeting for coffee instead of going to a pub like regular people. HOWEVER if a coffee nerd came into the duke they would be treated to waiting exactly .4 seconds while I nodded at the moosehead pint that they were allready pouring me when I walked in the door. They wouldnt be waiting while I was standing up at the bar going "oooh stella, do I dare! Ohh why not I only live once! now bottle half pint or pint that is the real question. Can I get that with low-fat hops?"

I think the highlight of my trip to the second cup was when I was in the SECOND LINE-UP (the one where you pick up your coffee or whatever and they make you repeat your order) and they asked the girl in front of me if she wanted a "double short" or a "double tall" and she was like "double tall please" and then turned to ME (like we were allready chilling in one of thier little couch sections or somthing) and goes "a double short would have me bouncing off the walls!" and I was like "What the hell are you talking about?"
Ok I didnt say that but instead I said "heh heh, I hear that!" or somthing similarily lame.

fortunatly that is when my coffee arived and I was only one line-up away (the sugar line) from leaving a cool 17min after I entered.

In short if anyone wants to pay me 20 dollars an hour* to hurl eggs at people leaving the second cup I am more than interested.
