Ok so I am starting a new job to supplement my career finding shoes at Groovy. Groovy isn't a huge store but they carry a supriseing amount of shoes which are jammed in three separate stock rooms one of which is across the street.
So far I have been ok at finding shoes quickly but I am getting stressed that I am not improving fast enough for a new worker.
One of my trendy queen St co-workers asked me last shift if I went to the Bell and Sebastian(sp?) concert the night before and I was like "NO I missed it.... Was it a good show?" when I should have been like "actually I haven't been to a concert in 5 years" (actually 6 years)
I swear if I was one of my co-workers I would instantly notice that I don't what they are talking about when it comes to music and start asking me questions about ficticous bands to amuse myself. It would go like this....
Co-Worker: Heey Luke have you picked up the new SHUYL CD yet?
Luke: No ummm I haven't yet.... I heard it was pretty good though....
Co-Worker 2: They are playing at the sonicultratheatre (made up venue) next week do you want to go?
Luke: Ooooh too bad I cant maybe next time
And then they could all secretly laugh at me.
In my defense I was wearing an old Larry Bird T-Shirt last night and not one of them knew who he was.
Also Erica doesn't know who the A-Team was.
Oh by the way if Bell and Sebastian are your favorite band and you want to send me an e-mail to say how cool they are then by all means send this e-mail to benpettigrew@utoronto.ca.
Also if Shuyl really is some obscure band than please send me an e-mail at yourknowlegeofobscuremusicdoesn'tmakeyoucoolerthananyoneelse@nerd.ca
Anyway I am starting a new promotion with the people who I did the nike promotion with and that is ok except that going around as part of the nike promo van is a lot cooler than going around in public as part of the Cheetos Cheeze Patroll or the Fishermans Choice Squid Squad or whatever they want me to do (I cant actually say the company but it is ok and there is an outside chance they will give me a cell phone)
Between two low-paying jobs I will hopefully be able to realize the income of one mediocre job and pay my rent and stuff. The downside is that I will have to work 60 hours a week to do this.
