Man have I had one mediocre week. Buyer beware here is an overview

Thursday: Luke plays pick-up and then goes to Law Halloween party

I sucked all kinds of ass playing pick-up. I think I should probably retire from basketball soon.
The law Halloween party was pretty fun save the tons of dudes openly leering (and in some cases pressing their luck with the conversational touching) at Erica. In fairness her costume did appear to be "half naked cowgirl" but come on...
Erica's costume didn't even register on this years Law School slutty costume index with two separate girls wearing panties as part of their costumes.
Adi's costume was kind of clever as a legal brief (she had "Legal" written on the back of her panties) also "Legal" briefly replaced "The" on Thursday night as the most commonly read word in the English Language. Honorable mention to Faye as well who wore panties under he chaps in true cow-girl fashion.
Halloween girl costumes are getting out of control. Their were girls there wearing surgically slutified school-girl uniforms and they could barely get noticed in the dude leering agenda. I honestly expect at least 4 naked girls at next years party.
I would give out male and female awards for best costume but the female side is now basically like giving an award for hottest chick when they have really been rewarded for that their whole lives so...

TOP 2003 LAW SCHOOL NON SEXY GIRL COSTUMES

1. Adam as Duffman from the simpsons: This is of course a kick ass costume but what really rocked is how comically drunk Adam was when he rolled in as duffman. Amazingly Adam managed to stay in "duffman" character the entire evening without breaking once. I would walk buy him talking to some random girl and hear exchanges like...

Adam: DUFFMAN LIKES YOUR COSTUUUME!!

RG: OH I get it your that guy from the simpsons Ha Ha that is funny you even sound like him! Are you in 3rd year?

Adam: DUFFMAN WORKS FOR THE DUFF BREWERY IN SPRINGFIELD

RG: OH your still dong the Duffman thing....

Adam: DUFFMAN WANTS TO MAKE OUT WITH YOU

and it went on like this.

2. Guy I don't think I know as bag of popcorn: it was pretty good you had to see it

3. 2nd year guys as the village people: these guys really went all-out for that village people feel. Special mention to peter as the construction worker.

4. Dean as the joker: Dean looks a lot like the Joker. I don't know if that is good or bad.

5. Will as Zorro: A brilliant shout-out to his 2003 "Low-Key" theme.

346. Ben as the guy who is too cool to dress-up for a Halloween party: How long does it take find a crappy costume? it took me 3 min to put together an admittingly lame and confusing costume (combination of tom cruise from top gun, the head student from the cobra kai in karate kid, and Michael Jackson)

The party was pretty fun unfortunately I had to go home early because....

Friday: Luke gets up at 5AM to drive to work in Ottawa

I was working the Nike thing at the Ontario High School (OFSAA) Cross Country Championships. I spent the weekend talking to high-school runners about cross-country and nike shoes. I used to race in the championships when I was in high-school but I still felt pretty guilty giving strategy tips to kids who obviously would have kicked high-school lukes ass. Also I must be getting old because very few (ok none) of the high school girls were hitting on me. I saw my kick ass old coach from high-school (Miss D) who gave me huge props to the current Grimsby qualifiers who were fairly disinterested (even after I mentioned that a much slimmer picture of me was on the athletic distintion wall from my running career).

Saturday: Luke is still in Ottawa: Drive home sucks
In all my OFSSA weekend was pretty fun and if my current career as unemployed loser doesn't work out I think I might consider being a high-school teacher and coaching track.

Sunday: Luke hangs out with Erica and then gets inappropriately drunk by himself at Duke/Bedford.

It is like my body wont let me get trough a weekend without getting bombed and embarrassing myself.
Special thanks to the 40ish non-cougar lady who is doing her masters in music theory and patiently listened to me explain the connection between Schoenberg(sp) and Music Therapy. It is unclear to sober-luke what this connection could possibly be but then again he isn't a persistent expert on everything like drunk-luke. After talking to her I rushed over to the bedford so I could explain the history of plyometric exercises to my personal trainer friend Dale.

I have trouble explaining the difference between guilt and shame to non-binge drinkers but it is significant.

Monday: Luke is hung over: Watches 28 Days on DVD

28 days was ok while not being productive as the job-hunting and exercising I had originally planned.
Actually 28 days was pretty good although I do feel the viewers were left with some pretty big plot holes not the least of which being how the rage virus works as a very-active infectious disease (other than just "Rage" is way cooler than other plague like infectious diseases)

Tuesday: Thats Today!

Today I went to Lunch with Mark, Debbie, and Kendra. Debbie and Kendra are friends from my MBS days. I don't see them that much but it is kind of awkward what with me having been dismissed from MBS and them still being there (and me still being mostly unemployed).
Lunch was ok except that I had to wait in the MBS lobby where I ran into approximately 75% of my x co-workers while looking like a homeless person.
Also a strong Tuesday good luck to Erica who is finally finishing her marathon OCIs. Slightly lesser good luck to the other second years I know.

There is my week.
