Yesterday I watched three movies.

MOVIE #1: Scary Movie 3
I saw this movie with Stephanie and Mark. Apparently this movie set a record for highest October opening weekend gross ever. This means that this movie also sets the record for biggest waste of October cash by the movie going public ever. I threw away $12 on this movie like I was dean playing poker.
I honestly excepted that this movie would be ok since the first two scary movie installments were ok but I forgot to factor in that this movie was done by the Zuckers of airplane fame instead of the Wayanses of Scary movie 1 and 2 fame so instead it was pretty crappy.

HIGHLIGHTS OF MOVIE #1:
1. They had the preview for ELF starring Will Farrow which was hilarious.
2. They really let loose with the bagging jokes. I mean most comedies are going to have someone really getting sacked but this movie just kept coming with bagging after bagging after bagging. It got to be extra entertaining just because you couldn't believe that they were audacious(?) enough to be pulling out yet another bagging joke.

Movie #2: Anger Managment
I saw the second half of this movie with Ben and then watch the first half after by myself. Not watching the movie in sequential order had absolutely zero effect on its entertainment value which is not a good sign.
This movie is only good if you somehow think that jack Nicholson is a cant miss star which probably means you grew up watching jack in One Flew Over the cuckoos Nest or in The Shining.
The first movie I watched starring Jack Nicholson in the theater was Wolf so I am pretty sure (actually freaking positive) that it is possible for Jack Nicholson to make a bad movie so I refused to believe in turn that this movie was going to be good just because the previews make it apparent that Jack Nicholson is going to sing a showtune and Adam Sandler is going to wait until the third quarter to freak out and start punching everyone.

Ok so anyway this was a bad movie actually a really bad movie in a way that makes you miss The Waterboy.

Highlights of Movie #2:
1. UUMM that guy from all the spike lee movies and barton fink and rounders was in it and was kind of funny
2. no further highlights

Movie #3: Battle Royal
I watched this movie by myself because it was 1 in the morning GOOD TIMES.
Ben rented it because it was quenten tarringtinos inspiration for the kick-ass GO-GO character in the kick-ass movie Kill Bill Part 1.
This is a japenese movie (subtitled) that centered around a decaying Japanese society whose students go on strike because of whatever (they don't make this too clear). Regardless as a warning to all of the students they institute a the BRA or Battle Royal Act which means that one grade 9 class is selected each year and made to go to an island and fight to the death with weapons.
This movie doesnt make a lot of sense.
This movie is pretty realistic in tone and scope for a movie that doesnt make a lot of sense and involves 14 year olds continually killing each other for the duration of the film.
In the end love saves the day dragging a pretty cool movie down a "fith-elementy" path towards crappiness.
I still liked it more than scary movie or anger managment

Highlights of Battle Royal:
1. The inspirational character GO-GO was only in the movie briefly at the start as the blood-splattered and deadly looking schoolgirl who had just won the previous battle royal.
GO-GO obvioulsy kicks a lot of ass but of course we never see her kill anyone which is probably why Tarringtino brings her to life for Kill Bill volume one. GO-GO is not called GO-GO in this movie and doesnt do anything but still has the coolest part.

2. Japenese Parliment passes somthing called "The Battle Royal Act" and it leads to an increase in Battle Royal's in Japan. In Ontario if somthing called "The Battle Royal Act" was passed it would mean that Battle Royals were about to be extinguished or triple in price (see tenant protection act, various energy acts).
