good afternoon blog fans,

And what a beautifull afternoon it is. Sunny but not too hot and the humidity is under 60% with a steady barometer FINALLY.

It was a busy weekend so I am going to go over things in point form and then update you later at my liesure but highlights included:

1. Steph, Ben, and Luke close on a new place to rent: it is in the queen bathurst area so goodbye stuffy yorkville luke and hello trendy queen west luke. Also goodbye futon (in university I though futons were super cool).

2. I seem to be getting leads again in the job world: Is everything coming out Luke?

3. Friday night at Marlowe: this was pretty fun plus thanks to Lyndsay, Maiga, and Shiney for buying me beer. Also thanks to Shannon and Martin for wisely selecting lunchbox and I as twin MCs for your upcoming wedding. We will do the best job ever*.
Also hello to new blog-fan Amy Rogers. I hope your year is going well. Also thanks to ashley for the ride to the bar. Also thanks to that pizza place just west of spadina and college and also the pita factory for making sure that I was well fed during my walk home. god forbid I dont get those crucial 1000 am calories seconds before sleeping.
* "best job ever" refers to best job ever done by unemployed twins who lack tact sometimes.

4. Saturday day I chilled at Erica's in the most chill of chill ways possible.
What Erica and Luke intented to accomplish on Saturday during the day:
- go to lucrative roseday gradge-sales for some cheap designer cast-offs.
- send out millions of resumes to jump-start Luke's job hunting (hmmmm)
- buy cam and darcy engagement present in timely fashion
- go out for breakfast
What Erica and Luke did accomplish on Saturday during the day:
- made delicous cheesy-egg egg-mcmuffins

5. Saturday night at the fairfields for Cam and Darcy's engagement party: this was of course super-fun although I am a little concerned that this is only the initial trickle in what will be a flood of engagement parties, stag and doe parties, stag parties, wedding showers(apparently the new trend if for dudes to go too), and of course weddings over the next 10 years. Thank goodness that most of my friends are mostly unmarriable in many fundamental ways (although the new ontario laws should help some of them). As my sister says however, "for every lid there is a matching pot" so for the record here are the Grimsby Rankings for next to be married.
1. Cam: is actually getting married next summer
2. Shannon: is actually getting married next summer
3. Lyndsay: I havent seen her since friday so she could allready be married.
4. Brendan: has been dating for 5 years (the same girl)
5. Adam: has been dating for over one year (the same girl)
6. Ross: only a matter of time before solid foundation laying pays off.
7. Luke: the sweetest looking donut can only stay in the box for so long...
8. Mark: we are looking for a huge surely pot who loves rum and deli sandwiches
9. Ben: a girl will have to trick my chubby brother into marrying her by talking about how much food there will be at the reception.
my prep for the engagement party started a little slow as I couldn't find the kind of swiss ball I wanted for there engagement gift. also when I finally got back to the condo ben was already dressed and on the phone with Lauren (who was nice enough to drive our late asses) and saying "oh here he is right now" so I had to get ready in 45 seconds (but still looked more presentable than ben who didn't feel that this was a shaving event).
there was a ton of people there including all of the mathesons except paul. Cam also had burst a blood vessel in his eye trying to do handstand pushups. Since I have limited experience with engagement parties I have a few questions for my readers.

1. When you meet people at a party and they say "oh we have heard about you" do you think that is a good sign or a bad sign?
2. If you are at an engagement party and the brides sister catches you pissing in her parents compost pile (ben) is that a social faux-pas?
3. does "casual engagent party drinking" mean that you announce to the party that it is time to "step it up" and then begin drinking triple rum and cokes from a pint glass (mark)?
4. If you are secretly trying to get your date to drink more so that she is less equiped to notice the startling rate in wich you are drinking is that what they mean by "co-dependency".
5. why is it so much fun to walk around at these things and ask all of the other yet to be engaged couples "so are you two next?"? am I just a jerk?
6. are all babies cute by definition? if so does there need to be an exception baby that proves this rule?
7. didn't greeting cards in general used to cost like a freaking dollar? I paid just under $7 for a nice(?) card at indigo. Thats ok indigo, I still have $11 left in my overdraft.

Ok so that is enough about the engagment party but a big thanks to the fairfields and Darcy's school for the DELICOUS food.

6. On sunday day we made both delicous french toast AND delicous grilled cheese sandwiches.

7. On sunday night I met up with ben and the robinson brothers (jeremy looks and talks just like will but they are not really the same) for some good sabath club drinking and dancing.

Ok so that is it. I hope your weekend was not too lame by comparison.
